2020 Personal PD Courses
Ann Milne Education
I have been working through this self-funded course. It is a very in depth study.
28/09/20 I need to add here that my school has funded the second course that I will be studying
- COURSE TWO: DECOLONISING THE CURRICULUM: BEYOND "CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE"
By the end of Course Two, participants will have …
Identified actions to dismantle those barriers (these might be personal actions or institutional barriers that need to change) to develop both curriculum content and pedagogy that are culturally sustaining and critical.
DMIC Short Course
My school has funded me to complete this course. It is also a high quality course.

Harakeke Recovery
The harakeke plants are beginning to heal.
The children have said karakia and harvested ngā rau and have been weaving putiputi and their own creations. They have cut the damaged leaves into mulch which they have lain around the plants or gently dug into the earth.
There is still more work, healing and learning to do.

Harakeke
I will be working with my students to restore the mana and hauora of the harakeke at our school.
Here is a link to the Christchurch City Library Website where I sourced the whakatauki and karakia from as well as explanations around the importance and care of harakeke.

When the heart is torn
from the flax bush
where will the Bell bird sing?
You ask me
what is the greatest thing
on Earth
My reply is
it is people people people.
